Personal Identity

My journey started with me changing my degree focus from Engineering to the BBA program in Accounting at Sheridan. The initial decision left me doubtful of my path, at the time, and it made me try a lot of different pathways. I got a night shift at a warehouse which made me want to really shift focus back on to my professional career. I also started coaching youth soccer, something that has helped me in developing valuable people skills especially in leadership.

After deciding on Accounting at Sheridan, my BBA journey began. After surviving a global pandemic and seeing the landscape of learning change, I continued to work on my own development. Many courses, projects, dilemmas that challenged me to grow and change.
I have grown a lot since my journey began and now I am working on becoming a successful career professional with all the skills that I have developed, all the certifications I have achieved and all the experiences I have had. Becoming a much more rounded and centered individual ready to build my life.
I am incredibly proud of who I have become and what I do but I am not done with my personal growth. Not even close, I still have a lot more left to do...

Manual of Me

-
What do I value? Top 3 Values based off the Values Perspective: Systems.
-
Integrity – I value having a strong sense of integrity to always act honestly with high moral and ethical principles. I hold myself to a standard of being honest and doing the right thing, especially knowing that at times the right thing may not be the easy thing.
-
Rationality – Logic and reason are driving factors in my decision-making process. Often deriving what decision makes the most sense rationally with my core values being met. I have learned to include more empathy within my actions when other people are involved. MBTI results reflect this through the “T” in INTJ score.
-
Intuition - My values are aligned subconsciously through my actions often trusting my gut feeling will be guided by what I value. This is also clear from my MBTI results, the “N” in my INTJ result.

How I like to get work done?
-
I like to find ways to complete my tasks to a high degree. Sometimes recognizing that a short 2 minute break can benefit my success in completing tasks to a high degree. Knowing that allows me to maintain a high standard of work that I complete and to represent myself as true to myself as possible. As my MBTI results (INTJ) state I am more on the introverted side meaning I draw my energy from within so I like to be mindful of how I spend that energy on what needs priority. I like to work at things extremely resiliently, exhibited by my Grit score of 3.90 points.

Things I don’t have patience for?
-
I do not have patience for meaningless, non-impactful work. I enjoy doing tasks that I know are positively affecting others. Often times looking for ways that I can give any potential tedious tasks more meaning to me by giving that work more value.
-
I have a Growth Mindset, so I thrive on finding more opportunities to learn and grow. As some people find having these conversations with themselves as difficult, I allow myself to feel any discomfort from not exceling at a task to then be able to work and develop that skillset.

-
What holds me back from doing my best?
-
There are times I find that I want to complete tasks to a high degree and as I hold myself to that standard, it may take longer to find that middle ground about what is the goal. I have learned to have open discussions and evaluate prioritization of these tasks to appropriately fulfill and exceed my expectations.
